Temporary Limit Increase, Made Simple
Every day, Salal business members use our online banking platform to send ACH, wire, and Bill Pay transactions. And sometimes, they encounter transaction limits. If that happens to you, don’t worry—we’re here to help.
You can request a Temporary Limit Increase by contacting our Business Services team. While it may feel like an extra step, these limits are in place for good reason—and they’re an essential way we protect your accounts.
When Transaction Limits Come Into Play
Transaction limits are designed to keep your account and your business safe. They help prevent fraud, support regulatory compliance, and reduce risk for both Salal and our members.
“Salal Credit Union sets member-specific limits on ACH and wire transfers to manage risk, comply with regulations, and most importantly, to prevent fraud,” said Gracie Kim, Business Banking Operations Supervisor.
Why Limits Protect You and Your Business
“It’s very important for ACH, wire, and Bill Pay limits to be in place to reduce risk exposure from fraud or online banking takeovers,” added Angie Raham, Senior Business Banking Operations Manager.
Your transaction limits are tailored to your specific account type and activity level. They reflect your business’s unique risk profile and are part of how we help you bank safely.
What to Expect When You Request an Increase
When you reach out for a Temporary Limit Increase, our Business Services team will confirm the request is from an authorized signer and collect details about the transaction. This step includes both verbal and written confirmation, regardless of how the request is initiated.
“If I get a call, I collect the required info verbally, then follow up with an email to get written approval,” said Rebekah Gomez, Business Banking Representative. “If the request comes by email, we confirm by phone.”
Five Questions That Help Us Move Faster
To help us process your request without delay, please be ready to answer:
- What service is the limit increase for? (ACH, Wire, Bill Pay, etc.)
- What limit do you need and for how long (daily, weekly, monthly)?
- What’s the reason for the request?
- Are there other planned payments in the next two weeks?
- How many days should the temporary limit be in place?
Plan to Avoid Delays
Each request is evaluated based on your available balance and near-term payment plans. Providing specific, accurate information helps avoid overestimating and ensures a faster review process.
Authorized Approvals Keep Accounts Secure
Limit increase requests must be approved by an authorized principal or owner of the business; typically the individual(s) who signed our Business Authorization Resolution. That way, your business’s leadership remains aware of any large transactions.
From Request to Approval: How the Process Works
Once we collect the required information and verify your account, we route your request internally for approval. After management signs off, we’ll apply the updated limits in our system and let you know when you can proceed with your transaction.
A Faster Way to Submit Your Request Online
We’ve introduced a new online submission form to make the process easier and faster. It captures the required details up front, reducing back-and-forth and helping us move quickly.
