Last year, Salal’s Business Services team shared our thoughts ahead of MJBizCon 2023. We’re back once again to talk about our plans for the 2024 Cannabis Conference and Expo, the premier annual cannabis conference and tradeshow. We’ll be in Las Vegas during the first week of December to listen to our current and potential members, as well as to share the exciting new offerings we’ve got planned for all our cannabis business members.
MJBizCon 2024: What We’re Excited About
MJBizCon is the largest industry event Salal’s Business Services team attends, drawing top cannabis executives and leaders,” said Christoffer McCollom, Business Banking Sales Manager. This event is a prime opportunity to connect with current members, hear from new businesses, and continue to learn about the ever-changing cannabis industry.”
Business Officer Michael McIntyre agrees. “MJBizCon offers a great opportunity because many industry professionals come to Las Vegas that week and it’s a great opportunity to meet in person,” he said. McIntyre looks forward to site visits with Salal members in the Las Vegas market, and connecting with other business owners who are in town for the conference.
For Business Loan Officer Fady Nasiem, MJBizCon 2024 marks his second year attending the conference. “I am looking forward to meeting more of our members face-to-face, in a different environment than at their place of business,” he said. “For the members we’ve already had the pleasure of meeting, either during site visits or at last year’s event, I’m looking forward to hearing how their businesses have evolved in the last year and what they’re excited about.”
Salal Business Banking Officer Alicia Thomas is also looking forward to networking at the event. “MJBizCon is our time to collaborate with each other and make sure our name is out there,” she said. “I hope to also meet some business owners I haven’t met before and learn how we might have that perfect missing piece that will be able to support them and their business.”
And our newest team member, Jessica Dues, Associate Business Officer, can’t wait for her first cannabis industry event: “I’m beyond excited to dive into this year’s MJBizCon! My top priorities are all about growth and connection.” Jessica and the whole team will be spending plenty of time on the expo floor, meeting with industry leaders. “I’m all about connecting with other professionals to share ideas and forge some partnerships.”
The team agrees that MJBizCon is all about relationships. “It’s an opportunity to connect in a meaningful way, to build lasting relationships that will be mutually beneficial,” Christoffer said. “It will be a great venue for us to talk out our Social Equity Program and our Referral Program, two programs that not only set us apart in the industry but also continue to showcase our leadership in this business community.”

To make the most of the conference, Fady recommends using the MJBizCon app and website to find the sessions and forums you’re most interested in. “These are great tools to help in determining which events to attend.”
Jessica recommends leaving plenty of open slots in your schedule. “Block out time to explore the expo floor,” she advised. “There seems to be always something new to discover, and it’s a great place to meet vendors who can offer real solutions depending on your business need.”
