What You’ll Learn
- Get answers to your questions about one-time passcodes for online debit and credit card purchases.
The security of your accounts and personal information is very important to us. To help protect you from fraud, we’ll soon be introducing a new one-time passcode (OTP) security feature for certain online purchases. This enhanced security feature will help block unauthorized users from making fraudulent online purchases with your card and gives you peace of mind while shopping online.
How One-Time Passcodes Work
When you use your Salal debit or credit card online, you might see a message asking you to confirm the transaction with a one-time passcode. A one-time passcode is only required when Visa’s system identifies a transaction that requires extra verification. If your transaction needs a one-time passcode, you will be prompted to select the method you wish to receive the passcode. You can have the passcode sent via text to your mobile phone or to the email address we have on file for you. Once you get your one-time passcode, enter it in the pop-up box on your screen to confirm the transaction and complete your purchase.
Remember, your one-time passcode is unique to each transaction. Never share it with anyone who contacts you asking for a passcode. A Salal representative will never contact you requesting your passcode.
