From March 23–26, Salal Credit Union will attend the Reservation Economic Summit (RES) 2026 in Las Vegas, Nevada—one of the most influential gatherings focused on strengthening Tribal nations and their economies.
Each year, RES brings together Tribal leaders, entrepreneurs, policymakers, and organizations committed to advancing economic development and building new opportunities in Tribal communities. The Summit creates space for collaboration, innovation, and meaningful partnerships that support long-term prosperity for Tribal nations.
For Salal Credit Union, participating in RES reflects a broader commitment: supporting Tribal enterprises with financial tools and services that help businesses grow, and communities thrive.
A Milestone for Indigenous Women in the Cannabis Industry
This year’s Summit will also mark the official launch of the Indigenous Women’s Cannabis Chamber of Commerce (IWCCC), an organization dedicated to supporting Indigenous women entrepreneurs and leaders in the cannabis industry.
Salal Business Banking Officer Christa Kemp, who specializes in Tribal Banking, is a founding member of IWCCC and will be present at RES for the organization’s unveiling.
The IWCCC works to elevate Indigenous women in cannabis through advocacy, mentorship, networking opportunities, and economic empowerment. By bringing together Indigenous leaders, entrepreneurs, and advocates, the organization aims to expand access to resources and create stronger pathways for Indigenous participation in the growing cannabis economy.
Christa’s involvement reflects the same philosophy that guides Salal’s work every day—helping people remove financial obstacles and pursue new opportunities for their businesses and communities.
Building Stronger Tribal Economies Through Partnership
At Salal Credit Union, we believe strong partnerships are essential to creating lasting economic opportunity.
Our Business Services team works with Tribal enterprises and organizations to help them access banking solutions designed to support long-term economic growth. These solutions include business checking and savings accounts, lending options, cash management tools, and financial guidance tailored to the unique needs of Tribal businesses and organizations.
Salal has long supported emerging and underserved industries—including Tribal enterprises and the cannabis industry—because we believe opportunity deserves a chance. By working closely with Tribal leaders and entrepreneurs, we aim to help remove barriers that hinder business growth and economic independence.
Events like the Reservation Economic Summit provide an opportunity to strengthen these partnerships, share knowledge, and learn directly from the communities we serve.
