We’re excited to share that Salal Credit Union has been named one of America’s Best Regional Banks and Credit Unions 2026 by Newsweek and Plant-A Insights Group. This is the second year in a row Salal has received this national recognition.
The annual ranking recognizes financial institutions that help power local economies by supporting small businesses, financing community projects, and providing reliable access to everyday banking services. For credit unions like Salal, it also highlights the member-owned model at the heart of what we do: people helping people build financial security, strengthen communities, and move toward brighter financial futures.

How the Rankings Were Determined
Newsweek’s America’s Best Regional Banks & Credit Unions 2026 rankings are based on an independent study conducted with Plant-A Insights Group. The methodology reviewed financial benchmarks, customer survey responses, social media and mobile app reviews, press coverage, and reputation-related media monitoring to identify top-performing banks and credit unions nationwide.
According to Newsweek, more than 8,800 banks and credit unions were considered in the initial review, with the final list recognizing the top 500 regional banks and top 500 credit unions in the country.
