At Salal Credit Union, we believe in the power of together. We believe that people and organizations rooted in their communities are essential to create lasting and meaningful change. We support their efforts by helping to remove barriers and create pathways for individuals and communities to thrive. Donation Application Guidelines

We accept funding requests from organizations whose initiatives align with our mission and focus areas. Below are the key guidelines for submitting a donation application. 

Funding Priorities

Salal provides funding to organizations working in the following areas:

  • Healthcare: Expanding access to healthcare, improving health outcomes, and supporting career pathways in the medical field.
  • Housing Security: Promoting safe, stable housing through partnerships and community initiatives.
  • Clean Energy: Supporting sustainability efforts, clean energy adoption, and environmental stewardship.

While these are our primary focus areas, we may also consider other initiatives that strongly align with our mission and are rooted in promoting social equity.

Funding Request Timeline

We review applications during three designated funding cycles each year:

January–February (Main Cycle)  
The primary period for funding requests, especially for grants of $10,000 or more. Most applications should be submitted during this time.

June (Mid-Year Review)  
Primarily for requests under $10,000. Larger requests will generally not be considered. 

October–November (Year-End Small Grant Cycle) 
Allocates remaining funds, prioritizing smaller grants (typically a few thousand dollars or less). 

One-off requests may be submitted year-round, but they will typically be reviewed during the next scheduled funding cycle unless an urgent need arises. 

 

How to Request a Donation

To apply for funding, organizations must submit a request through our online donation form below.  

Submitting a funding request does not guarantee approval, and funding levels may vary based on available resources and strategic priorities. Receiving funding in one year does not ensure future funding.
