June is National Hunger Awareness Month
Salal is partnering with Northwest Harvest to hold a food drive June 12th through June 30th. Please visit one of our branches during our drive and donate food or money. You can also donate to the drive through the Salal Foundation. Funds contributed to the Salal Foundation via our website or in a branch between June 12 – 30 will benefit Northwest Harvest and up to $2,500 in donated funds will be matched by the Foundation.
Even a small amount of money can make a big difference: with just 67 cents Northwest Harvest can provide a nutritious meal for a family of three; with $20 they can feed a child for a month.
Salal is proud to support Northwest Harvest and all they do for the community. They are the only nonprofit food bank distributor operating statewide in Washington with a network serving 375 food banks, meal programs, and high-need schools. With distribution centers in western, eastern, coastal and central Washington, Northwest Harvest reaches underserved communities where people in need would otherwise go hungry. Through this network they provide more than 2 million meals every month.
