About Us
We’re a grassroots financial co-op driven by the belief that together, we can have a bigger impact on our financial well-being, our neighborhoods, and our environment.
Since 1948, we’ve worked to eliminate financial obstacles and help everyday visionaries realize their potential. This drive has led us to take on new challenges—like becoming a national leader in banking services for the cannabis industry or making solar power affordable for over 5,200 households and businesses in 2022.
Since we’re member-owned, our profits go back to you and your neighbors in the form of fewer fees, lower rates, and charitable giving that directly impacts your community. If you are looking for a way to make your everyday banking make a difference every day, we welcome you to join us.
Our Name
The Salal plant is a tenacious and adaptable evergreen that thrives in challenging conditions. For thousands of years, Salal has been used by the indigenous people of the Pacific Northwest, both for nourishment and for healing.
We gratefully acknowledge that our headquarters building and branch locations rest on the traditional land of the Coastal Salish people, including the Duwamish, Muckleshoot, and Tulalip tribes.
